Month of Softies - Self Portrait

Vsoftie

Visit my interactive virtual softie --------> here!!!!!

Its the last day of March, and you know what that means... its Month of Softies time! The theme is "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Child" so three guesses who this is! (yes, I am a little pigeon-toed) :o)

I had this crazy idea to do something a leeeeetle bit different, so I created a virtual softie! But you have to go see her on my web site, because she needed some coding that typepad couldn't handle. Please note, no felt was harmed in the creation of this softie, its all digital!

Middy_1With the invaluable assistance of Katy, I got the code up and running so it works across ALL browsers, so you can dress her (me) in several cute outfits. As far as I can remember, these are items I actually had at one time or the other in my childhood... more or less. And boy howdy, I can make a softie much faster this way than with a needle and thread. And no more pricked fingers!

VERY cute, Jenny!!!

This makes for a really fun and warm illustration style too. I hope you do more of it!

It looks very good. I had fun dressing you up.

It worked on my browser!! I love it! Your mom dressed you in some cute clothes.

I'm so glad it worked on your browser! I agree, my mom bought me great stuff, even though we had completely different favorite colors. She was into pastels and I was into PRIMARY colors... still am!

Thanks. that was so fun...I loved the virtual softie I wish I could have taken a picture!

This looks really great, Jenny!! Can you give me a clue how you made this? What code do you use?

Thanks Roosa.

I created the images in Photoshop, using digital photographs of felt and fabric, and I found the drag and drop code on this site:
