Month of Softies - Peekaboo

Whew! She squeaks in a softie at the very last second! Meet baby monster Peekaboo, my contribution to Loobylu's Month of Softies. (my son said I should call it Pikabu as in the little yellow Nintendo monster Pikachu!) Actually the theme this month was recycled monster, but I did a lousy job of recycling. I mostly just used leftover felt and buttons from prior projects like the Weester Bunny. I have way too much stuff around here that I need to use up without finding something to recycle.

And here is an interesting discovery... did you know that it is nearly impossible to find diaper pins any more? I looked at several places before I gave up and used regular safety pins. How boring. I guess they are becoming pretty much obsolete because of disposable diapers, or I needed to find Diaper Pin World or something.

I can't wait until we find out what next month's theme willl be! And neither can Tucker! She is feeling much better now, responding to all the attention and TLC that we are lavishing on her. We heard from the vet yesterday and her maladies are curable, we just have to keep everything down, especially the meds. Peekaboo is doing her part to try and help Tucker feel better.

What would I do without friends?

I have mentioned this before, that I have the best friends in the whole world, but I have some proof to share. My sweet friend Vicky dropped off a goodie bag just before my surgery, as she was off to Italy for a wonderful adventure! Inside were tons of little gifties, all adorably wrapped in pinks and greens and dotted papers. The card instructed me to open one or two every day while recovering. So here are all the little goodies. So many cute little things! Candies, charms, polkadotted tissues, stickynotes, tea, a puzzle book, tiny umbrellas, pepermint foot soak and useful gel pads to put on my eyes. The cutest pink soap in the shape of a dressmakers form came in an adorable satin-lined box! I don't know where Vicky found all these treasures, but I am so glad she did! I had the most fun opening up each little giftie!

Eye candy

I am so sorry I've neglected my poor little blog lately. Not only am I still not quite at full speed yet, but our sweet little Skip-mutt Tucker has been under the weather as well. We've had to take her to a special diognostic center for tons of tests, which of course she's none too thrilled about. But she is doing better and fingers crossed they can figure out what to do for her. As for me I am doing WORLDS better now, almost back at 100% speed. I'd say I'm at 85% and climbing!
