Tiny button tree

Buttontree

My quickie version of a little felt tree, because I have that short attention span thing going on. I cut a partial circle out of my favorite shade of teal felt, stitched up the seam and used pins to secure a sprinking of red buttons and beads onto it (I didn't even sew a bottom onto it, just stuck enough fluff into it to give something for the pins to hold onto). Dump out a pile of white buttons, plunk down the tree and voila! Instant cuteness! Here's a wider shot of the tabletop.

And this is a sort of pattern of the basic shape:

Special thanks to Lyn, and her adorable trees with personality. What terrific inspiration!

Cheers,

Jenny

Really adorable! So simple and cute. I especially like the button "snow" strewn around the base of it. :)

I love your little tree. I just stumbled upon your blog and am immediately drawn to all the lovely teal and red. Lots of lovely things.

That's a cute idea! I will have to file that away for next year.

That's great! Wonderful idea!

Oh!! So sweet!! It's beautiful!

what an adorable idea!

Oh, the cleverness of you! ;)
Just adorable.

Short attention span crafts! You gotta love that. It's very cute, Jenny!

This is so cute :) can't decide which set of buttons I love more, those on the tree or those around the bottom :)

So lovely - as usual! ;)

You did it again!!! I just had to make a tree..you made it sound so easy and fast...I have a prim version (compared to yours) complete with *snow*,and love it!!
:)

What a quick creative idea. Like the idea of the buttons around the bottom.

OMG... that is SO cute! What a great, but simple idea! You are so creative...

i've just stumbled here as well..and don't want to leave! I think I've found a project for today..i LOVE that tree..sigh..just perfect! thank you..merry christmas!!

Aren't buttons the best??! I've used them in a few things I've created and I think they are more purposeful for art rather than their true use. i.e. button up things. How boring!

it's so cute .
