My buddy Vicky and I took in the Quilt Show and I am so inspired! Tons of gorgeous, luscious, amazing quilts. No way I could ever hope to have the patience and skill to create any of these lovelies. Me, I wanted to go mainly to drool over the fabrics the vendors bring, and I brought home a pretty decent stack. I'll have to take pics of those tomorrow... the light is fading and I hear a glass of red zinfandel calling my name...
Um, back to the quilt show. The heart above is actually a mini, I'd say about 12 inches across. So cute.
And this quilter mitered striped homespun to create a vibrant, vibrating geometric masterpiece:
I love this one! Colorful houses with the most fun border of birds and flowers:
But this one was hands down my favorite. The quilter had lost her father and the making of this was very healing. I was told she used fabric from Kaffe Fassett and other newer designers. The energy and passion was thrilling:
Anyway, I was jazzed by the sensory overload of color and pattern, and totally inspired! Wait till you see the fabric I bought, it makes me happy happy happy. I'll post pics tomorrow hopefully. Oh, I took these photos with my new little camera, an Olympus that I got as a freebie with my scanner. It is actually a higher megapixel than my other one! It great because it is teensy so I can carry it with me in my bag and take pics wherever.
Cheerio! Off to my date with that glass of wine!
