The dollhouse makeover

We finally got some glorious sunshine today! The wind is whipping things up outside, but everything looks bright and fresh. The house is full of light... perfect for photographing the dollhouse, after its recent makeover. This is how it looked before...

...and this is how it looks now!

It has green window boxes and gingham curtains... (I think I may have overdone the gingham, but I couldn't stop myself)

A mailbox and an embroidered welcome mat (which I forgot to photograph properly)...

And my favorite part... a little clothesline complete with teensy clothespins!

Now that the exterior is spiffed up, I can turn my thoughts to a redecoration of the inside. I already have the cutest doll furniture that I got for it ages ago, very Swedish folk-arty looking. And now I'm also thinking of who might live in this charming little casa. None of my current softies are the right scale, so I am thinking of making some little person (creature?) in the right size. Any ideas?

If only fixing up a full size house was this easy!

Cheerio,

Jenny

and we can NEVER overdo gingham. Or polka dots for that matter!. i have the Vistorian Playmobil dollhouse but i never redid it because i was affraid that i'd ruin the whole playmobil look.

well done once again. love love love the flowers and the letter on the mailbox! i'm a sucker for little details. ^_^**

I want to move in!! This is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!! I was just on the phone with a friend when I browsed here and she jumped because I gasped so loud. You haven't overdone the gingham and I love, love, love the color combo's. What a great job Jenny. I want to make one now :o)

The dollhouse looks perfect! I love the window boxes and the clothesline is too adorable! Great job!

AWWWWWW...that is the most adorable dollhouse ever! I had one similar (but pretty dern ugly, comparison-wise) when I was a young lass...now I can't wait to try my hand a second time around with my wee gurl. Thanks for the amazing inspiration!

I can hardly wait to see what you do with the interiors. It makes me giddy just thinking about it! ;~)

I want to move it too! Its just magical. The flowers in the windowboxes, the clothesline, ah! Show pics of what you do inside of it.

I love the gingham too! Such a nice look.

You are the Queen of Cute! I adore this! I can't wait to see what you do with the interiors. So now I am going to be on the lookout for a dollhouse to fix up too.

That is the greatest looking dollhouse I have ever seen! :) And I'm of the mind that there is no such thing as too much gingham. haha The clothes line just sends it soaring on the cuteness scale!

amazing! the clothesline totally makes it!!

Jenny, it's so beautiful! Wouldn't you love to crawl in yourself?

It is just soooo charming!!! Love all that you have added!!!

oh my, its so adorable, I would love to make one for my daughter but are house is so tiny I wouldnt know where to put it! My baby already shares my craft/sewing room...poor thing!

That is too cute! Oh my, it is absolutely adorable!! You've done such a wonderful job at revamping it.

I have been lurking here for a while :0) and I am delurking to tell you this is the most adorable doll house I have ever seen!! The color combo is amazing and the clothes line, ooooh, my favorite part....well and the mailbox! I can not wait to see what you do with the interior! I too, will be on the lookout now for a dollhouse to redo!

It's just precious! You did a great job and I love all the gingham. And look at that little mailbox with a letter and the clothes line!!!
Great inspiration for when we redo my old childhood doll house.
Can't wait to see the inside.

I want to move in! So very cute!

hmmmm, I was just wondering if you'd come decorate my house... incredible!

Wow -- my eyes just nearly popped out of their sockets. That is the single coolest thing I have seen in a long time. Spectacular.

oh jenny! i'm enjoying this little makeover so much. thanks

It's wonderful!!! Now I'm seeing my old ugly dollhouse in a whole new light. Thanks for the inspiration! And I'm digging the little mailbox. Someone's got a letter. :D

Very cute! I agree, the clothesline takes it to the next level. :-)

wow, that's amazing. i LOVE the clothesline!

My girls and I are squeeling over this. The gingham is the perfect touch and the clothesline and window boxes are just amazing. And Ginger says to tell you that she really likes that mailbox too.

I imagine you now have hundreds of viewers just dying to see what you're going to come up with for the inside! This is so much fun to see! Remember, there's no pressure...

!
My Molly would sell her Granny for something like this - and probably me too. It's fantastic.
