Welcome to Jenny Allsorts, my cheery little blog! Hello! I'm Jenny... illustrator, designer, and generally artsy craftsy person, and this is where I share projects, ideas and such, and natter on about this and that. I love all things stitchy, papery and vintage. Pull up a comfy chair and have a cup of tea!
Quick post to remind anyone who is interested that the deadline for submitting your bear story is tomorrow!
My email has been weird lately and I'm a bit concerned that I might not have received everything that's been sent. Here's a list of the people from whom I have submissions so far:
S Ansell-Casillas L P Boynton J Braun S Brownrobie D Cross S Dalka-Prysby B Devries S Ferguson T J Foster N Fraser K Hinderaker E Kelley A Kokalj J Lane L Lockridge & B Casey M McCracken K Natale J Olson A Pillow A Prince-Bex H Ramer D Robertson A Siemsen
If you have sent me something but your name is not on the list, please resend it and make sure you put Bear Story in the subject line so I can tell it isn't spam.
The stories that have come in are all fantastic, it is going to be really tough to choose one! They are each special and wonderful in their own way. Thank you all so much for your efforts. It will take a bit to determine which one to pick, probably not until after April 1st or possibly later. Katy will be home all next week for Spring Break!
If I don't manage to post before Sunday, have a lovely Easter! And so this isn't a completely pictureless post, here's one of the dollhouse a couple of years ago when the bunnies invaded:
Whoosh! How did a week go by since my last post? Oh well, here is what is on my desk today. On my computer desktop actually... I found this glorious image in the wallpapers group on flickr. This is a cropped version, you have to go see the original... it is breathtaking!
Hi gang! (uh oh, she's gone all chirpy on us again)
It's great to have Claire back to blogging, I missed her postings while she took a nice long sabbatical. Now she's joining Kirsty in a simple and easy meme: on my desk Wednesdays. Since I love to play along, I picked up my camera and captured this pretty scene at the end of my desk... my (fake) peony and a dandy new oilcloth bag I picked up here on a shopping jaunt last week. I admit to mildly cheating, since a deep clean of the studio happened this weekend, so normally that end of the desk would be nothing more than a dangerously leaning tower of papers and whatnot. But fear not, it's only a matter of time before another one builds up. Relentless.
I especially liked the idea of this meme (definition here) because it is so simple and easy. I have a tendency to get all perfectionist about posts, and end up letting embarrassingly long gaps develop between them. And that's not really the point of blogging, is it? It should be for enjoyment, to reach out and connect with kindred souls, share a chuckle or a fun photo. Anyone else find themselves struggling with this? I'm guessing more than a few.
