May flowers
Three cheers! So far there are sixty-three bloggers attempting a post a day in May. I'm so thrilled to have such a nice group joining the fun. There's a handy list over yonder in my right sidebar if you want to check out the gang. Some familiar faces, and the chance to get to know some new ones!
And as promised, some visuals for today. These are photos from our most recent trip to the Arboretum. I made it there twice during the amazing Spring flowering. I can't claim all of these, some were taken by family members, but it was with my camera so I can share them, right? The delphinium pic above is by me for sure*, I may have invented some new yoga poses trying to take closeups of it without actually stepping into the flowerbed. I am insanely in love with that shade of blue.
*um, after some spirited debate I am convinced that this was actually not taken by me, although I did take several shots of my own in the aforementioned yogic poses.
Orange blossom and orange koi...
A flowering tree...
Poppies so bright the color hurt my eyes through the lens...
A blossom caught in the ridges of a bronze fountain...
And a cardinal dreams he's invisible within a brilliant red Japanese maple...
And those are only from our secondary visit. First time I think I snapped a couple hundred, so steel yourselves... no doubt I'll pull some of those out for another post in May!
Cheers,
Jenny

Oh, I love the idea of a Post a Day! What fun. I'm going to try it too. I missed May 1, alas, but posted yesterday and so can carry on from there. It will be a challenge, for sure. I love your blog, by the way--I've been reading it for awhile, and my little girl absolutely adores your dress-up dolls, so thank you thank you for those; they're charming!

I love the photo of the cardinal. We have some that nest in a tree in the backyard here in KY and love to watch them. All the photos are beautiful.

I love your photographs! I tried to pick a favorite, but I think I like the same thing in all of them - the movement and stillness that you have captured in each one... the contrast between these two elements is fantastic. xox

Also adore that blue, and have not planted delphiniums this year.
And the red of those poppies is just wonderful.
Are we not blessed to live in a time when essays are a breeze with a word processor....and I did all but my last Master's subject with the old typewriter deal......but also digital photos. I thought it was wonderful in the mid '70's to spend hours in the dark room doing wonderful things with black and white photos...Have to say this is a little easier on the older bod.

your photos are so wonderful and vibrant. i relate to the yoga poses, especially when i'm indoors and losing the light.
the cardinal is my absolute favorite. we don't see those in our neck of the woods much anymore, especially color coordinated to match the tree.

Share as many pics as you like - those are gorgeous! I keep scrolling back and forth between the first two - love the contrast of the blue Delphiniums and the orange koi - there is inspiration for a new quilt, I think...
I'm a bit late for the party as usual, but I will take the challenge of posting every day in May :-)

OK Jenny, I am loving those photos!!! I am in serious need for a new camera that doesn't give me blurry up-close pictures! What kind of camera do you use???

That Cardinal picture is just the sweetest thing! Look at him just sitting there as proud as could be. Love the Magnolia's, there are some just down the road from me. Such a shame they only last a week at best.
