I've got a pretty good system for shipping out fabric what with the buntings and giveaways lately. I even participated in the Sew Mama Sew fat quarter swap recently. I've never done that before... it was fun! I might have to try that again sometime. I've got this nifty portable mail station that I set up. Maybe I should do a post about it sometime, it works really well for my needs.

The reason I'm groaning is because of a nasty headache, the result of a very full day yesterday, topped off with a production of Death of a Salesman at the Wyly last night. We had totally forgotten about our tickets, and would have missed it completely if we hadn't spotted signs for the show while driving around. After a day of shopping (the farmer's market, Home Depot, Calloways, North Haven Gardens and three Lowe's) the last thing I was in the mood for was full-blown theatrical tragedy, but the tickets were paid up, so off we toddled. It was a fantastic production but über depressing of course. And to make things worse, we had watched Up in the Air on Saturday. So hey, two nights of that sort of melancholy would give anyone a headache. Oh well... onward!

Another fab Friday fat quarter freebie

A bunting we will sew... a bunting we will sew...

ver since I discovered Spoonflower, I've been itching to design some fabric that would be super fun and might earn me a few pennies. But with so many amazingly gorgeous fabrics out there, it was clear I needed a new twist. So I began to think of designing a whole project... a pre-printed fabric panel with all the elements conveniently worked out, and all you would have to do is stitch a bit! And so I am pleased to introduce my latest endeavor... Stitch-a-bit kits! 

The first design is a fabric panel that makes up into this cheeky Union Jack bunting. All you have to do is cut, stitch and festoon!

The finished bunting is 60”, with double-sided 3.5” x 4” pennants and 7/16” sashing. It's printed on quilting weight 100% cotton. A link to detailed instructions is included.

I just now listed the first few panels in my shop and I'll add more soon as additional yardage arrives. There are more designs in the works, I can't wait to share!

Oh! I almost forgot to pick the winner of the Dutch Girl fabric. It was awesome to see how many of you liked the design! Let's see who the handy dandy random number generator lands on...
