This was/is one of those weeks with Things Going On. Last things first.
Bless his heart, Ro had surgery on his hand this morning, to repair an old injury in his left thumb or something like that. It's all fixed, but he's in a lot of pain, poor baby. I realized the cocktail they gave him must have been pretty powerful when afterward he asked if I could help him butter his shirt. He's funny even when he's not trying.
Over the weekend we had two fun Mother's Day celebrations, one in and one out. The guys spoiled us with a Fajita Feast. The homestead was the central location for many many flowers on Sunday. It smelled absolutely Heavenly. It made me feel dizzy and drunk. But it might have been the Coronitas.
And last week, with Mother's Day approaching I was missing both my mother and my daughter, so I gave myself a prezzie. This lovely creature:
Her name is Leah the Painter, and she is the creation of the amazing Elsa Mora. She came with a wee handmade portfolio and four tiny yet perfect original paintings.
I can't get over how beautifully detailed she is, and that she's here with me now.
It's as if she was made for this glass-top table in the main room.
Hope you all had a special Mother's Day! I did!
Love to you all,
Jenny
