After years of wrapping the base of our family room Christmas tree with sheets, tablecloths and lengths of fabric, I decided it was time to come up with something that would last. So taking my cue from this, I made this!
It is a tree skirt made from two layers of white blizzard fleece (on sale at Joanne's!) cut in about a 22" circle with an oversize scalloped edge and a slit at the back, and whip-stitched with red Pearl cotton floss. And buttons of course.
Now the red and white tree is ready for the holidays...
The Japanese maples and nandina in the courtyard are also wearing red!
The ideas for decorating projects just keep coming, so I'm kind of proud of myself for finally seeing this one through to completion. So how about you, have you made something new for the holidays?
Cheers,
Jenny
