Freebie time! Printable Christmas paper doll

Hello dear bloggie friends! The last few weeks have gone by in a blur, because I've been working like crazy to finish my new app, Bunnyfur's Christmas. When it's done, it will be submitted to Apple, then I have to wait another week or so for them to approve. My poor little eyeballs are soooo tired from staring at my monitor, and my brain is swirling with bright candy colors. I am itching to finish and move on to some serious Christmas crafting, but I took a little time out to whip up this fun little freebie! It's a Bunnyfur Christmas paper doll for you to print and play with! To get the pdf, just leave a comment on this post and I'll email it to you. Then all you need to do is open it with Adobe Reader, print, cut and play... easy!

I thought this would be a nice way to promote the book as well, so please pardon my slightly sales-pitchy blathering. But honestly, I can't wait to share the whole app with you, I went a bit kookoo nutso on it. Along with six dress up pages, there are seven activity pages! I've had way more than the allowable limit of fun, believe me, and I am so proud of the work I've done on it. I can't get over the amazing things you can create for iPad. It's a whole new... thing. I can't even come up with a word to describe it! Here are some sneaky peeks:

Appy Alloween... an announcement!

Did you notice some Halloweeny things happening to Allsorts today? My Zoe avatar donned a bee costume, and I tweaked the design of the blog a bit in honor of the spooky season. I consider Halloween to be the savory appetizer to the multi-course banquet of the holidays. It's a nice counterpoint to the visual feast of Christmas to come! 

But, on to the announcement. Remember how last year I created On Halloween as an interactive book for ITB? Well, I revamped the entire book, and now it is available as a free-standing app in iTunes! I added tons of interactions, and little Miss Zoe has two new costumes, a scarecrow and fortune teller. We also lowered the price to $1.99! Boo! ...I mean yay! Every page has new goodies... there are cute crows, cats, bats, spiders, ghosts and pumpkins galore that bounce, roll, dance... even moo! I hope kids will have as much fun playing with it as I had making it!

I'd be thrilled if you check it out, and especially grateful if you spread the word about it. Care to see some studio pics?

It's amazing how not blogging gives one so much more time to get things done! {Ahem} I finally stitched up the inserts for the shutters in my studio, and I can now show you the results! Red gingham... shocker, I know. But of course, I have a long-term love affair with it!

Do as my daughter says, not as I do

So... who of us here will admit to spending a leetle bit too much time on Pinterest? (raises hand sheepishly) I'm pretty sure a few of you are nodding in agreement. I know that every female member of my family is pretty much addicted. This includes my daughter, Katy, who came up with this mini poster of a very apropos quote... and she is selling prints of it in her etsy shop! I just ordered one, to hang somewhere here in the studio to remind me why I have a studio. And by the way, (prepare for some proud mama-ing) my girl is no slouch... she has a MFA from RISD... soooo I'm pretty sure the print will be Of Excellent Quality. Oh, and you can get it in gray, too! But guess which color I chose. :o)

This reminded me that I've horribly negelected my own etsy shop. So I relisted both the Dala Horse and Union Jack bunting kits. Remember these?

So, next topic. Where in the heck have I been lately?  My last post was all about getting back into the creative swing, starting with that goofy quilt. Well, it worked, because I am SO fired up now, I can barely get myself to stop and... well... post! What's got me geeked, you ask? This labor of love:

It's a new interactive digital book/game/activity/app! I'm having way too much fun with this one. There's a tree and a gingerbread house (of course) to decorate, toys to make, lots of Christmassy dress-up pages and tons more neat things I'm adding. I'll let you know when it goes live!

So, at least I'm not just spending time on Pinterest. At least not too much time. ;o)
