Off we go

We're heading up to New England for a bit!  (but not by boat)  I'm so excited! We're attending Katy's graduation, then tootling around New Hampshire and spending some time in Boston.  I've temporarily closed Loopsies, but it will reopen on June 4th,

I just speed-hemmed four pairs of pants, next time I'm taking them to proper tailor... both because of the time and hassle involved, but also because it is now painfully obvious that I lack skill in that department.  Oh well.

Happy face

Thanks for the suggestions (and encouragement) about how to do my doll's face.  I ended up painting a very simple smiling face, and it was so much easier than I expected.  Easier than embroidery for me, because I have lots more experience painting than I do embroidering. I also added some pigtails, a skirt, some ribbon trim and hair bows.  And little felt shoes...

I was really surprised at how much personality adding all these things gave her.  And I love how she has lots more of a rag doll vibe going on now.

Once I find I proper box, off she'll go to Eren, who is taking all the dolls made for the Craft Hope Project down to Nicaragua. And hopefully then she will bring a smile to a little girl's face!

I'm still in doll-making mode, but will probably be stitching up my own little shrooms very soon.

Inspired by Claire, Kirsty and many others, I've taken a tumbl into a log... er tumblelog. Now when I'm bopping around the net and find an image, link, quote, or illustration that I likey, I can pop it onto tumblr. I see it serving as a kind of inspiration board, so I dubbed it push-pins. So now I have a blog, facebook page, and tumblelog, plus twitter, etsy and flickr.
