Jade just shared the news on the Craft Hope blog, so I guess I can, too! Lark is publishing Craft Hope, Handmade Gifts for a Cause, a book of patterns for projects you can create, with possible charities for each. I leapt with joy at the chance to contribute a project when Jade contacted me. I am so proud that I was asked to participate, I love the great work that her organization is doing.
They requested I design a pattern for some sort of animal softie, and right away I had the idea for a cute little dog. Remember this sneak peek from last June? It's my Pupkin!
I quickly decided that of course there must be two little Pupkins, so I made the pattern work for a boy or a girl! The girl wears a little frock, and the boy a little romper. These two are the final prototypes. They posed nicely for me in the garden last summer so I snapped a few pics before I had to pack them off to the publisher.
I really loved being a part of this worthwhile project, and I am excited to see my first softie design in print! I am also itching to see the other projects that were created for the book, but I'll have to wait until it comes out this summer. However it is already up on Amazon and available for pre-order. Can't wait!
Cheers,
Jenny
