Wow. It's amazing how quickly the year went by. I really get a kick out of looking back over the previous year on the blog. I'm usually surprised by either how much or how little I actually posted. I think I did pretty good last year. Here's an overview of Allsorts 2010!
In January, the disaster in Haiti spurred everyone to do their part to help the earthquake victims. I created a special Pretty Maids embroidery pattern for a Haitian doll which was sold in the Craft Hope for Haiti etsy shop. If I recall correctly, that little pattern raised something like $500 for Doctors Without Borders!
Now see? This is why it is good to do a review. In February I discovered Spoonflower, and began to experiment with designing my own fabric. I made this design with my Dutch doll and promptly forgot about it. So let's make that my first official goal for 2011... do more fabric designs! Y'all remind me if I forget again... okay?
The Craft Hope book came out in March, which included the pattern for my Pupkins.
In April, I designed a pre-printed fabric kit for Union Jack bunting, and then the Dala Horse Bunting in May. I guess I should reorder and put some more kits into the shop. My poor little Loopsies, all that is in there right now are three lonely Pretty Maids sets!
In June I shared printable Fourth of July pinwheels... or pinspinners as I like to call them.
In July I "unleashed" my fluffy scotties into the world!
In the heat of August I entertained myself by doing color versions of the Pretty Maids. If my printer starts behaving, I'll be adding prints to the shop... hopefully. (my printer almost never behaves)
September was a mixed bag. The Dallas Morning News did an article on my studio/craft room, and I shared a printable to-do list among other things.
October I blathered on and on about our trip to New England and my Halloween decorations.
November was chock full of Christmassy whatnot, like patterns for Festive Felt and Peppermint Swirl Trees, and a Jolly Holiday printable to-do list.
And finally, December I was in full out Christmas mode, sharing a Dala Horse stocking pattern, showing off my scallop-edged tree skirt, mushroom/berries tree, and new white dresser. I also shared printables for Elfies gift tags and thank-you notes!
So now here we are in January, and I'm ready to put my stamp on another year. I've seen a fair number of January 1sts come and go and nowadays I really only have one resolution... just keep doing what I'm doing, because I'm having a blast. And for that I owe a huge thank you to my lovely readers, my dear friends and my awesome family. Thanks for putting up with me!
Cheers,
Jenny
