Isn't this lovely? I just purchased Alicia's pattern for this from Rosy Little Things (still one of the best shop names ever). She's done this in crewel... and I have zero experience with crewel. Is it easier than traditional floss embroidery? I like that she worked this on a dark tone fabric, but I'm thinking mine will be on something a bit brighter. Alicia has a wonderful sense of color, but I don't have her ability to work in a subtle palette. As far back as I can remember I've gravitated toward bolder hues. Crayon colors, candy colors, the brighter the better! That's my happy zone.
Like these fabrics selected by Kristyne of Pretty by Hand. What will they become?
Laundry bags! She sews them as birthday gifts for her daughters' friends, each with the child's initial. How sweet and clever is that?
I asked her about the fabric, and she told me it is the new Flower Sugar line from Lecien, which is available here. Lecien is also responsible for another line of fabric called Happy Mochi Yum Yum by my pal Monica of Happy Zombie fame...
Now that's what I call candy color! Yum yum yum!
Cheers,
Jenny
